These videos illustrate displacements of water from a two-layer bead pack where no barriers to crossflow exist. One bead pack is 11.2 times more
permeable than the other. The packs are 238 cm long by 11.6 cm high by
1.3 cm deep and contained in clear plexiglass for viewing. Dyed polymer
solutions were injected to displace clear water. For individual experiments,
viscosities of the injected polymer solutions were 1 cp, 3 cp, 8 cp, 23
cp, and 75 cp, respectively.
Demonstration of Polymer Flooding and Crossflow Demonstration of Polymer Flooding, Crossflow, and Viscous Fingering During a Post-flush In addition to the concepts illustrated by the above videos, the videos in this set include results during water injection following polymer. Consequently, the locations and severity of fingering phenomena are shown. |
